Age Verification Policy

This site is written for adults. Entry is limited to visitors who are at least 18, or older where local law sets a higher age of majority. This page explains the gate and its limits.

The rule

By continuing past the age gate you state that you are at least 18, or the age of majority where you are, whichever is higher, and that adult-related editorial material is lawful to read from your location. If either is untrue, leave the site.

What the gate actually is

The gate is a self-declared confirmation stored for the browsing session. It asks a question and records the answer. It does not check documents, run a credit card, query a mobile carrier or estimate age from a face.

We say that plainly because the difference matters. A self-declared gate is not highly effective age assurance in the sense used by regulators such as Ofcom, and we do not present it as one. It is a threshold notice: a clear statement of who this site is for, placed before the content.

What is behind the gate

Reviews, rankings and explanatory writing about creators who publish on a third-party platform, illustrated with profile-style portraits. No explicit material is published on this domain. Explicit content sits on the platforms we link to, behind their own access controls and their own age checks, which are their responsibility, not ours.

Jurisdictions with stronger requirements

Several jurisdictions require verified age assurance from services that publish pornography, and the definitions differ from one law to the next. The position taken here is straightforward: where a requirement applies to a site of this kind and cannot be met with a self-declared gate, access from that jurisdiction is blocked at the edge rather than served with a weaker check.

A blocked request receives HTTP 451 and a short notice explaining that access is unavailable for legal reasons. Blocking is reviewed as laws and their scope change, and this page is updated when a jurisdiction moves in either direction.

Data the gate collects

The gate stores one flag for the session so that the question is not repeated on every page. It carries no identity, no document and no account, because this site has no accounts at all. Details of what is stored and for how long are in /privacy/.

Parents and guardians

If a minor reached this site from a household device, network-level filtering and the parental controls built into the major mobile and desktop platforms are more effective than any site-level gate, because they apply everywhere rather than to one domain.

Adding this domain to a blocklist takes a minute, and we have no objection to it.

Suspected minors in content

If you believe a person shown on this site or on a profile we link to is a minor, do not send the material. Report it to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org, and email [email protected] with the URL. We remove the page and cooperate with the authorities.

Questions and responsibility

Questions people ask

Does the age gate verify my age?

No. It records a confirmation for the session. It is a threshold notice, not identity-based age assurance, and we do not describe it as more than that.

Do you keep my ID or a face scan?

No. Nothing of the kind is collected, because no verification provider is in use and the site has no accounts to attach such data to.

Why is the site blocked in my country?

Where a local age-assurance requirement cannot be met with a self-declared gate, requests from that jurisdiction are refused with HTTP 451 rather than served with a weaker check.

Is explicit content shown on this site?

No. Pages here carry editorial text and profile-style portraits. Explicit material stays on the third-party platforms we write about, behind their own controls.

Who do I tell about a minor in a profile?

Report to the CyberTipline first, then email [email protected] with the URL alone. Never send the material itself.
